Visit to 338 (West Ham) Squadron Air Cadets

A great day was had by all at the RAF London Wing Field Day on Saturday 20 September at Woolwich Barracks where all the London Wing air cadet squadrons were on parade for a wide ranging competition including drill, bands, first aid, modelling, music and much else besides. Glorious sunshine prevailed, and the Bowyers contingent were in good company with the Master Plaisterer, the Master Carmen (elect), the Deputy Master Environmental Cleaners, and the Master Air Pilots Master too.

Flt Lt Billy Moore was present, leading 338 (West Ham) Squadron and was presented with the Bowyers' cheque for £1,000 by Renter Warden, Nigel Heilpern. The squadron has increased its headcount to 50 cadets now, and has almost doubled in number, which is testament to the very good work being done there now. They did not win prizes at the Field Day, but they participated fully in everything.
